Melanie Jayne Lynskey
Melanie Jayne Lynskey (born 16 May 1977)
is a New Zealand actress. She is known for her unique role, with a soft voice
and a strong personality. She is mostly seen in films that are independent.
She's won a New Zealand Film Award as well as a Hollywood Film Award as well as
the Sundance Special Jury Award. Lynskey was a young murderess, who made her
film debut in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After making the move
to the United States, she built a successful career in supporting roles in a variety
of big-budget and small-scale features, like Ever After (1998), Detroit Rock
City, But I'm a Cheerleader (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), Abandon, Sweet
Home Alabama (both 2002) Shattered Glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006),
Away We Go, Up in the Air, The Informant! Leaves of Grass (all 2009), Win Win
(2011) and Seeking A Friend to the end of the World, The Perks of Being a
Wallflower (both 2012), They Came Together (2014) and Don't Look Up (2021).
Lynskey's lead role in Hello I Must Go (2012) was praised by critics and also
being nominated for the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Performer. It was a
pivotal event in her professional career. She has become a well-known figure
within the American independent film industry due to her subsequent role in
Happy Christmas. We'll Never Have Paris. Goodbye To All That (all 2014), The
Intervention. Rainbow Time. Little Boxes. I'm Not at Home in This World. And
Then I Go. Lady of the Manor. (2021). Lynskey is also famous for her portrayal
of Rose in the television series Two and a Half Men (2003-2015). She was the
star of Togetherness from 2015-2016, and she received a nomination from the
Critics Choice Television Awards for the award for Best Supporting Actress.
Megan as well as Beatrice on the Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014)
